 John Sakoin

John Sakoian President and founder of Command Excellence LLC and ACTION™ Training

He is a Director with the international company First Tactical. John is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and a current executive board member of the FBI NAA Western Pennsylvania Chapter. John formulated & instructed the Crisis Incident Command/Management and Active Shooter Training programs for more than 1,200 police officers, over 2,500 educators in K-12 schools & Universities, and over 200 commercial/workplace settings. His training programs have been approved by Pennsylvania’s Municipal Police Officers Education & Training Commission (MPOETC), obtaining twenty-four Pennsylvania MPOETC grants and three Homeland Security PEMA grants approved by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE).

Terrence Brown Owner and Founder of Safety Security Consultants LLC (SSC)

Mr. Brown has 33 years of combined military, law enforcement, and safety management experience with the U.S. Air Force, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and Pittsburgh Mercy Health System. Mr. Brown enlisted in the US Air Force as a Security Specialist in 1984, and served at Langley Air Force Base Virginia, Ghedi Air Base Italy, and Nellis Air Base Nevada. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant in September of 1992 after the conclusion of the first Gulf War. In May of 1995, he graduated from the Allegheny County Police Academy and accepted a position with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police where he achieved the rank of Master Patrolman. As a Pittsburgh Police Officer, Mr. Brown worked with the Dignitary Witness Protection Unit and S.W.A.T. in a patrol capacity serving high risk warrants until his retirement in 2007.Mr. Brown’s security consulting company SSC provides building safety assessments, safe room identification, active shooter preparation training, and customized security plans by experienced Police Officers, prior Military Personnel, and State Department Contractors who have firsthand knowledge of crisis situations.

Bob Winters, DHS Protective Security Advisor, Pittsburgh District

Since 2005, Bob Winters has been the United States Department of Homeland Security Pittsburgh, PA District Protective Security Advisor assigned to coordinate and facilitate critical infrastructure protection in 32 counties of Western Pennsylvania. Originally from Pittsburgh, Bob had a 23-year security career in the active duty Air Force. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in History, Masters Degree in Public Administration, is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, and an ASIS Certified Protection Professional.

Terry Berringer, Church emergency Consulting, LLC

After more than 20 years of experience as the Director of Security, Parking and Medical for a major Western Pennsylvania suburban church, Terry Berringer has entered the next phase of his ministry to protect and care for God’s people and the places they worship. Terry is the founder of a skilled medical team serving the needs of a large church. Combined with the growth and management of security and parking teams, he has developed systems for organizing and providing for the most basic needs of church-going believers in a post-911 world. We live in a fallen world and God has put us here to help cushion the landing. That means serving congregants from the minute they arrive on church property until the time they go out and serve the unchurched world outside the door.

Terry has also served as a consultant to several area schools, providing training in security and medical needs for school personnel.
